Incredible family home only Ā½ mile from Greenville Memorial Hospital. Quiet dead-end street with beautiful homes. Originally designed for a large family as a home in the āGeorgianā style, the exterior red brick was selected because of its timeliness, as well as the fact that it can be seen on homes that are hundreds of years old. Custom brick shapes are used throughout, including all window and door openings, front porch steps and on the main floor rear terrace. The roof covering is composed of āElk Prestiqueā 30-year architectural grade shingles. Windows are by āPeachtreeā, exterior doors are by āPellaā, all are double-glazed wood which are ācladā on the outside with prefinished metal so as not to require painting and minimum upkeep. Exterior walls are insulated with fiberglass batts as well as foam āblueboardā exterior sheathing to provide excellent insulative values. Utility bills, therefore, are very reasonable for a house of this size. Foundation footings are oversized and have resulted in minimum settlement over 21 years. All floor framing, as well as the roof, are framed with āTrus-Joistsā, which at the time of construction, were new and ācutting-edgeā. Now, they are used in many quality-built homes. The entire main floor level, with the exception of the Master Suite (which is carpet and ceramic tile), is Ā¾ā red oak strip flooring. All other floors are carpet except bathrooms which are all ceramic. The carpet on the second floor and top floor has never been ālived onā. The master bath has a āspa tubā (with jets) in addition to a separate steam shower. Counter tops in master bath and kitchen are Corian. Wide wood moldings are used on all doors and windows. The main level has 9 foot ceilings, all others are 8 foot, except the top/attic level which is 12 feet. All interior doors are 1-3/4ā. Recessed lighting is used extensively throughout the house. All plumbing supply is copper and all wiring is 12 gauge copper as well. The house has two 200 amp electrical panels that serve the house. Natural gas is used both for heating as well as for three gas fireplace log sets, a gas cooktop in the kitchen and an āon-demandā gas water-heater unit that serves the house. Natural gas is also available for the clothes dryer and stacked double ovens (which were switched to electric some years ago). There is also natural gas available in the pool equipment area for a pool heater. Kitchen appliances are all stainless steel. Stacked double ovens are both convection type. Gas cooktop in island has a āpop-upā exhaust along rear edge. The kitchen sink has an under-counter on-demand water heater for very hot water when desired. Each of the four floors of the home has its own heating and cooling system. On the main floor, the rear terrace and screened porch floors are brick pavers that are atop 4ā thick concrete slabs that are supported with steel beams and columnsā¦construction not normally seen in residential construction. The large 3-car garage can accommodate a Surburban in each bay with the car doors open. Two of the overhead garage doors have āoperatorsā, the third is manual. There is an abundance of shop/tool/storage space. The epoxy floor was installed about a year ago. The house has a total security system (including smoke and fire) by CPI. It is fully monitorable and operational from either a smart phone or a computer. All the grounds have an automatic sprinkler system in addition to low level lighting. āInvisible Fenceā has also been installed. The fiberglass pool in the backyard is manufactured by āSan Juan Poolsā, one of the oldest and respected manufacturers in the pool business. Both the main pool pump motor and the auxiliary pump motor (for the auto-cleaning āoctopusā) were replaced two years ago. One of the main attractions to Club Forest Lane, in addition to being close to everything, is the fact that there is no through traffic because it is a dead-end street.
