This property fits the bill of being unique. 34+ acres surrounded by the George Washington National Forest.
There is a locked gate at the entrance to the property, so please, no "ride-bys". Original 24 x 18 structure was most likely a 2 level log cabin. Logs are still exposed in the "great room', and upper level bedroom. The property does have well & septic (we assume), and there is a full bath off the bedroom upstairs. This part of the home has a stone foundation. The kitchen may or may not be log, but it is on a block foundation. The stone fireplace in the great-room has been closed with stone. Ceiling beams are throughout the main level.
There is a 36 x 24, 2 level, detached garage in great condition. Offers plenty of workshop, storage space. Off the side of this structure is a covered concrete pad (side access into the garage). There also is an attached Laundry area with steps down to a natural spring, within this so-called springhouse. Be careful of the steps and deck leading to a storage area behind the laundry room. There is also a "blacksmith" shed to the right of the garage. I don't have a key to that yet. Interesting property with many stacked stone fences. The property needs much cleaning and updating.
The creek is on this property, and the land extends beyond the creek. There is a neighbor at the end of Duncan Hollow Ln. He accesses through the locked gate also, and has one acre at the end of the lane. Please respect his privacy.

From I8, if you get off the Edinburg Exit 279, go east into Edinburg. Turn left on Main St. (Rt.11S) Go 1/2 mile, make a right onto Fort Road. Turns into Edinburg Gap Rd. Drive 5.5 miles to Kings Crossing. Turn Right onto S Fort Valley Rd. Drive 3.5 miles. Stay straight to cross over Moreland Gap Rd onto Chrisman Hollow Rd. You just passed the GWNF sign on your right. The next lane to the left is Duncan Hollow Ln. (no sign). Farther up Chrisman Hollow, the gate is locked during the offseason. You turn left on Duncan Hollow, regardless. 1/2 mile ahead there is a locked gate onto the property for sale.
Use I81 Exit 283 (Woodstock) if more convenient, take Rt.11S for 3.5 miles, then follow directions above from Fort Rd. in Edinburg. Call listing agent before venturing out. Must be with an agent to view.
