One of the most handsome houses in Calais, which was recently named one of Maine's best places to live by DownEast magazine. In 1976 it was sold to a local forester and his artsy wife. The house is a few blocks to Canada and to downtown Calais with its growing number of restaurants, a bakery, and a new spa. Calais is the first and only municipal broadband utility in the state of Maine, Downeast Broadband, with the highest speed internet found in New England. Calais is the gateway to the Maritimes, Canada and the northeastern starting point of Maine's Bold Coast. The 1-mile waterfront walkway is a block to the east along the tidal St. Croix River overlooking St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada. Broker owned.
