As the snow dumps on the frozen Northeast, many residents will get the itch to relocate to the sunny beaches of Florida.  It’s a land of white sands and turquoise waters, of margaritas and Mai Tais, of idle days spent playing shuffleboard with Flo and Doris. If this impending storm can teach us anything it’s that it’s time to stop dreaming and just move to a sun-drenched Florida beach community like Miami Beach, Sarasota, or Fort Lauderdale. Look, it’s only a matter of time before each person in the Northeast throws in the towel and moves south. Whether next winter or 50 years from now, you’re probably going to do it eventually. Why endure more dismal winter days when you can fall asleep in the sun, blissfully ignorant of any impending hurricanes, shark attacks, and election day blunders? It’s time to buy a home in Florida. Here are eleven for sale to inspire you…

You can swim in either the pool or the ocean, and the water is always warm in both. It’s like some kind of magic.

See those footsteps on the beach? They belong to an elderly retiree from Cleveland who was out roaming the sands with his metal detector, but they could be yours…

You don’t have to wait 30 minutes to go in the water after drinking a piña coladas in Florida because there are absolutely no rules in the place that’s called “God’s Waiting Room.”

Once you buy a house in Florida, LeBron James and Flo Rida will probably drop by and ask you to go to parties with them.

Unlike the public pool at the YMCA, if you live here nobody will make fun of you when you and your friends play Jack Sparrow vs. Giant Squid and other ridiculous pool games.

Rumor has it Margaritaville is a lovely spot to hang your sombrero.

You could just be sitting on the dock of the bay, watching the tide roll away… That’s from an Otis Redding song. Anyway, this dock is pretty much destroyed, but the sunset is spectacular. You’ll make do.

Also, if you buy a home in Florida you’ll probably get to hang with lots of dolphins (not the football team).
